Assisting the Best Man with his duties, and forming part of the official bridal party, the ushers will be at their most visable at the beginning of the ceremony, showing guests to their seats and handing out the Order of Service. For larger weddings it is correct to sit ushers at the top table alongside the bridesmaids, but their role is much smaller than that of the Best Man.

Usually a family member or the son of a good friend, a pageboy has no specific role, their value tending to be more along the lines of adding cute factor to the bridal party, and to add some great footage for the cameraman. It also tends to be a very effective way of persuading otherwise reluctant small boys to dress up smartly for the wedding!
