Looking for somewhere wonderful for a Valentine's Day treat? Look no further than London's new luxury hotel L'oscar, designed to be utterly seductive in every way. Here's why this impeccable hotel in the heart of Holborn is our pick for a decadent Valentine's Day getaway...
Chic and unique
Under the huge Edwardian dome of the site's original Baptist church, decide whether you are a saint or a sinner while you sip imaginative cocktails in the bar. Succumb to the temptations presented by a talented team led by Head Chef Tony in the Baptist Bar & Grill above. Staying the night? Enjoy a late night drink in the sophisticated Café L’oscar before you sink into a sumptuous bed under the most luxurious duvet in London.
This decadent hotel opened in 2018 and is unashamedly sexy. Everywhere you look you'll see textured fabrics, deep sofas in opulent colours and baroque details. Designer Jacques Garcia created his unique Parisian style in the heart of Bloomsbury, and truly let his imagination run wild. Bold jewel tones, mirrors, huge painted peacocks, glass birds, butterfly taps and intricate details at every turn make Instagram images of the hotel instantly recognisable. The bedrooms have all you'd expect for in modern luxury living in London, but with carefully restored fireplaces and original features, intricate plasterwork, and lots of velvet.
The perfect place to relax
At Guides for Brides we'd heard that the hotel's duvets were something really special, so we asked L'oscar's creator, Duncan Shakeshaft, about them. They are made from the softest down of Icelandic ducks, and every bed in this 39-room hotel has one. Guests compare them to sleeping under a warm cloud - which sounds perfect for a Valentine's Day getaway to us.
The hotel is just moments from Covent Garden and the Drury Lane theatres, as well as stylish bars and eateries. If you are looking for somewhere truly divine for a night of romance, you've just found it. See more from L'oscar here.
