About Kippilaw House

Dating back in parts to the 15th Century, our mansion house wedding venue is surrounded by grounds and private woodland, in Melrose, which is near Edinburgh. Ceremonies within the house and grounds available, weather dependant!

Here at Kippilaw we offer you the freedom of expression for your wedding day. We encourage creativity. Our packages can even include your wedding photography, flowers and cake. A favourite here, weather permitting is woodland weddings. We hope that by choosing Kippilaw for your wedding venue you will benefit from our expertise in hosting parties and events, it is after all, part of our history. We specialise in weddings from 25 to 120 guests within the house.

Having been lovingly restored retaining its original details. The House is tastefully decorated and furnished in a comfortable grandeur and has many original features. The reception rooms are delightful with real working fireplaces plus the modern heating system works wonderfully and we have wifi. Our grand staircase perfect for photographs with a viewing gallery. To add to the extravagance we also have a Victorian Ballroom with fully working semi circular Bar, leading onto a covered veranda, the perfect place for cocktail in the evening overlooking stunning countryside. We can offer accommodation for up to 40 guests.

Our food is sourced locally, we are very lucky to have fantastic food from farms including the best game and cheese. You can be sure you are getting great food here.
