About Heathy Lea
Heathy Lea sits on the edge of the historic Chatsworth Estate in Derbyshire’s Peak District, offering couples a setting where their wedding and celebrations unfold across its gardens, grounds and on-site accommodation. The venue holds civil wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships for up to 150 guests, with a licenced garden summerhouse available for vows or blessings under its oak tree with views over Chatsworth parkland
Celebrations at Heathy Lea are planned as exclusive-use weekends, with the venue and accommodation reserved for the couple and their guests for two or three nights. The accommodation comprises a mix of four self-catering cottages and five shepherd’s huts, allowing up to 24 people to stay on site across the wedding weekend.
On the wedding day itself, couples use the gardens and lawns as the backbone of their schedule. Ceremonies take place either beneath open skies beside the licenced structure or at a celebrant-led blessing under mature trees. Drinks receptions and post-ceremony gatherings occupy the open space around the property, where guests can move freely between outdoor areas and marquees or tipis brought in by chosen suppliers.
As evening falls, the flexibility of the venue allows dinner and speeches under hired structures or in outdoor spaces arranged by the couple. Accommodation on site means friends and family can stay through the night and into the following day, whether for brunch, walks through the Chatsworth grounds, or relaxed time together before departing.
