About Elaine

Elaine has been a member of the Guides for Brides team since 2011. She is our resident venue expert and is able to recall and describe hundreds of wedding venues just by name! Thanks to her clients being a variety of venue types and styles from hotel venues to wedding barns and pubs; Elaine is the best person to speak to if you need recommendations for where the best places are to tie the knot, no matter your style, location or wedding budget.

Elaine’s Experience and Role at Guides for Brides

Elaine has worked at Guides for Brides for 12 years and is primarily focused on building relationships with wedding venues across the UK. Before joining the team, she worked as a Sales Executive for a publishing company. She drove all over the UK during this time and really developed her knowledge of the geography. 

Her knowledge of the towns, hamlets and their counties enables her to understand regions and areas, which comes in very handy when helping couples looking for their ideal wedding venue as well as understanding where the venues are located and where they should be marketing themselves on Guides for Brides.

What is your favourite thing about working in the Wedding Industry?

People who work in the weddings sector are so passionate about what they do. I love being able to establish relationships with venue managers and wedding coordinators. I always look forward to chatting with my clients and hearing about their upcoming events.

What is your biggest tip for couples that are searching for their wedding venue?

Start with your guest list. This is key to understanding how much space you need and what capacity to look for. You can't establish that a venue is suitable for you without knowing who you want there for the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening party. You never know, you may need somewhere that can erect a marquee for a bigger capacity during the evening reception or somewhere that has good accessibility for disabled guests. What is your biggest tip for wedding venues and suppliers who are trying to reach the right couples?

Advertising is an ongoing requirement. Couples have the world at their fingertips, and you need to have a presence in most of the places they are looking. The more they see you, the more curious they will become to consider you and what you offer.

What is your favourite thing to read about on Guides for Brides?

I like to read the business information blogs in particular as well as the Ultimate Guides on our wedding ideas pages. These help me to keep up to date on changes within the wedding industry, and I can then pass on well researched information to my clients too.
