In July 2022, Beccy and Katie celebrated their special day with a beautiful barn wedding in Buckinghamshire. The occasion was one to remember, filled with unforgettable moments and personal touches. So, if you're looking for some incredible wedding inspiration, be sure to read on about this wonderful celebration.
The Proposal
Beccy and Katie met online, and from there, their relationship blossomed. Upon meeting in person, the couple quickly discovered that they had a lot in common. For example, they found out early on that Katie's dad and Beccy's mum had gone to primary school together! After being together for eight years, Katie decided it was time to take the next step in their relationship.
During a family holiday in Rome, Katie suggested that she and Beccy visit a beautiful garden called Giardino degli Aranci. A man was softly playing the guitar, which set the scene wonderfully as the couple made their way to an incredible viewing point of the city. Once they were alone, Katie suddenly started to speak Italian. In shock, Beccy corrected her, until she realised that her partner was actually proposing! Katie proposed, and of course, Beccy said "sì."
The Venue
The Barn at Newton Park Farm is a unique, family-run venue surrounded by breathtaking views of the Buckinghamshire countryside. Beccy and Katie loved the aesthetic of the old barn and the beautiful scenery around it. They were also captivated by the idea of an outdoor wedding and felt that Newton Park Farm would provide an authentic experience for this.

Beccy and Katie's ceremony was a beautiful occasion, with 85 of their close friends and family in attendance. Held outdoors on the grounds of Newton Park, the pastel blue colour scheme complemented the venue's beautiful surroundings. Katie made a memorable entrance, arriving at the top of the aisle in her classic 1964 green Beetle, driven by her best man, Aaron.
As a member of the local Woburn Sands brass band, Katie arranged for their quintet to play "Canon in D Major" by J. Pachelbel, adding a special touch as the brides were walked down the aisle in turn by their mothers. The ceremony also featured readings from Touched by an Angel by Maya Angelou and I Will Love You Forever from The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman.
In addition to the band, the couple asked their bridesmaid and close friend Elli to play during the celebrations. Elli is a talented saxophone player, and her beautiful rendition added a wonderful feel to the occasion.
The Wedding Fashion
Katie looked radiant in her dream dress from the designer House of Savin London, which she found at Clementine Bridal Boutique. The flowing A-line silhouette and added floral detail looked truly stunning, with Katie opting for a floral crown and dried flowers for buttonholes to add a wonderful finishing touch to the ensemble.
Beccy chose her dress locally from Rose's Bridal Boutique in Bedfordshire. The ball gown silhouette and v-neck design worked together to create a look that was both timeless and elegant. Adding a sentimental touch, she chose to wear the same wedding shoes her mother had worn to marry Beccy's stepdad.
The Food
Katie and Beccy's wedding cake looked wonderful. Katie's sister, Sarah, a skilled baker, generously offered to design and create the cake for the occasion. She prepared three delicious flavours for everyone to savour and decorated the cake with pressed flowers from the garden, adding a beautiful, personal touch.
Delicious canapés were served by Jennie's Cakes and Catering following the ceremony, and for the wedding breakfast, the couple chose a barbecue. Guests were invited to approach the barbecue one table at a time to enjoy the feast.
The Wedding Entertainment
Beccy's brother-in-law's friend, Will, was in a band called The Wild Horses, which the couple had seen a few times during visits to their home in Staffordshire. They loved the band and asked Will to provide the evening music. He agreed and provided a list of songs to choose from. The couple selected their playlist and the band played Everlong by the Foo Fighters for their first dance and Will did a wonderful job DJing the rest of the evening with their chosen tracks.
Favourite Moments
Amongst all of the beautiful moments on their big day, Katie and Beccy said that the standout moment was the ceremony itself. The couple recalled how amazing it was looking out to all of their friends and family in such a beautiful setting. Beccy and Katie also really loved their portrait walk, enjoying their time together without distraction while their photographer Marcus Charter and videographers captured some amazing photos and footage.
