Gemma Bentley and Gemma Linford chose to to marry at the Leigh Park Country House which is a beautiful hotel wedding venue. Their wedding photographer, Libby Clark, captured the joy from the day perfectly. Scroll down to see and read more!
The couple had known each other for a few years prior to forming a romantic relationship as Gemma L was good friends with Gemma B's mum. After 1 year and 3 months of being together they were engaged! Gemma B prepared an intimate proposal with just the two of them surrounded by beautiful rose petals and glowing candles, so dreamy!
The couple did have to rearrange their wedding due to the Covid-19 restrictions but they were very pleased with how their venue handled the situation, helping them with any concerns that they had.
The Venue
The lovely couple got married at Leigh Park Hotel, which is a Country House and vineyard and features 5 beautiful acres as well as a secret garden with original Georgian Gazebo. Gem and Gemma thought this venue was perfect since the large function room extends for the evening to avoid moving guests around and even has its own bar.
The couple celebrated with 70 guests throughout the day and 100 in the evening. Leigh Park Hotel has 38 gorgeous, individually-styled rooms perfect to keep your guests close. The Honeymoon Suite has a grand, four-poster bed and this room is included in the wedding packages. Perfect for relaxing in luxury at the end of your wedding night.
The Fashion
Both of the brides chose second-hand wedding dresses for their big day which they then had altered to their requirements. A wonderfully sustainable choice, we think they looked absolutely stunning and the dresses complemented each other beautifully. Both dresses featured detailed lace and a fit and flare silhouette. Their bridesmaids are all members of the family and wore navy blue dresses with pleated detailing. The colour scheme throughout the day was blue and this was echoed in the decor and small details on the day.
Special Touches
During the ceremony the couple decided not to have special readings as they felt that they would get too emotional. They agreed that keeping it simple would be the best option for them. They did have a talented harpist, Lianne Hopkins, for the ceremony and wedding breakfast who played some of Gemma's late grandma's favourite songs.
For the evening reception they had the duo band Ben Whelen and Tim Goode who the brides said were "fantastic'. For the favours the couple decided on a variety of flavoured shots. On these they added the line "Take a shot, we finally tied the knot 25.07.22", which may serve as great inspiration for a line at your wedding!
The photographs were taken by the fabulous Libby Clark, who prides herself in making you feel comfortable and happy in your wedding photographs.
