Rosie and Matthew's September wedding at Mulberry House, a beautiful hotel wedding venue in Essex was full of beautiful pink, neutral and rose gold touches. "We wanted a relaxed, romantic theme," says bride Rosie - and we think they certainly achieved it!Â
The proposal was a wonderful surprise for Rosie, who didn't suspect a thing. "We stopped at The Shard in London on our way to the Isle of Wight festival and Matt proposed to me at the top. It was a complete surprise!" she remembers. "We stayed at The Shangri-La Hotel that night, before going on to celebrate all weekend in the Isle of Wight. It was perfect and I had absolutely no idea."
The couple were quick to make their wedding decisions, booking the first venue they saw two weeks after the proposal! They chose the beautiful Mulberry House in Ongar, a boutique hotel with an elegant marquee and rustic ceremony room. Rosie and Matthew tied the knot in The Cedar Suite, which they decorated with white and pink roses, hanging white wisteria, candles in hurricane lanterns and floral 'LOVE' letters.Â
The Fashion
Rosie looked stunning in her fitted champagne bridal gown, which was by Enzoani and purchased at The Wedding Trousseau. She accessorised with incredible rose gold Ted Baker heels and a crystal and pearl headpiece. Her six bridesmaids wore sequin and tulle Maya bridesmaid gown in charcoal and blush, all in different styles to best complement each girl. Groom Matthew looked just the part in his navy suit, silver tie and pale pink rose buttonhole.Â
The Reception
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a drinks reception of canapes and prosecco, Pimms and Peroni, while a saxophonist played. The wedding breakfast and evening reception took place in Mulberry House's marquee, which was lit with fairy lights and chandeliers. There was even a light-up dance floor, and Rosie and Matthew hired a fabulous light-up heart as decor.Â
Live band The Mesh Band kept everyone up and dancing in the evening, and people loved the VW camper van photo booth too. "We both enjoyed the evening reception the most as we were able to relax and enjoy the evening together along with all of our guests," says Rosie.Â
