About Love on the Line

Restored vintage telephones hired as audio guest books for weddings across Kent and East Sussex. Guests lift the receiver, hear your greeting and leave a message, and your recordings are back with you within 24 hours. We're a husband and wife team based in Tunbridge Wells: Colin restores and builds every phone by hand, Niomi looks after every couple from enquiry to delivery.

How it works

We deliver and set up your phone before guests arrive. There's nothing to plug in, no wifi needed and no phone line required. Guests simply lift the receiver, hear a greeting you've recorded in your own voice, and leave a message after the beep. The phone can't make outbound calls and can't be dialled, so it only ever does one job.

We collect afterwards and send every recording to you within 24 hours, as individual audio files you can download, share and keep.

Our phones
Two fully restored working GPO rotary telephones, one ivory and one classic black. These are genuine vintage sets, not modern reproductions, right down to the weight of the handset and the sound of the dial. Both look at home on a vintage, rustic or contemporary table, and they tend to become an unplanned photo opportunity in their own right.

What's included
Delivery, setup and collection. Unlimited messages, with no per-message cap and no charge for however many you end up with. A personalised greeting recorded by you. All recordings returned within 24 hours. Hire is £250, with a travel fee beyond 25 miles of Tunbridge Wells, confirmed in writing before you commit to anything.

Booking
A £50 booking fee secures your date and comes off the £250 total, with the balance due seven days before your event.
