About Ware Priory

Ware Priory in Ware, Hertfordshire combines historic architecture with flexible spaces to shape a full wedding day. The core of the venue is the Grade I listed Priory Hall, a space with gothic stone arches and stained glass windows set within a building dating back to medieval times. For smaller ceremonies, the Hadsley Room in the Lady Suite features a vaulted ceiling and a 14th-century refectory table where the registrar can conduct the service.

The Conservatory offers a bright interior with large French windows that open onto the riverside gardens and access to the River Lea. Fletcher’s Lea, also known as the Riverside Suite, is a more contemporary standalone building with its own terrace and all catering and bar facilities under one roof.

Couples begin their day with a drinks reception in the riverside gardens, which also provide a range of backdrops for photographs. The wedding breakfast is served in the chosen room, with dining arrangements varying from formal sit-down meals to informal buffets or barbecues prepared by in-house catering partners. The venue can accommodate both intimate and larger gatherings, with a range of spaces that suit different group sizes.

As the day progresses, reception celebrations can continue into the evening with dancing and socialising while still being able to enjoy the gardens and river views. Ware Priory’s setting within seven acres of landscaped gardens beside the River Lea connects its historical character and architectural features to outdoor occasions, and exclusive use of the venue can be arranged.
