About the Wedding Fair
The beautifully restored 17th century thatched Essex Barn is an idyllic wedding venue for your special day. Tie the knot with your soulmate in surroundings full of character with up to 100 of your loved ones there to share the moment.
Under the 1994 Marriage Act, The Essex Barn is fully licensed to host civil ceremonies for both opposite and same-sex marriages.

About Channels
Channels Estate sits in the Essex countryside at Little Waltham, on the edge of Chelmsford. The estate’s 17th-century thatched Essex Barn has a full license for civil ceremonies and partnerships under the 1994 Marriage Act, allowing couples to marry inside or outside.
Ceremonies can take place within the barn with up to 100 guests seated, or in the ceremony garden beneath a pavilion with guests seated on wooden pews overlooking the surrounding grounds, which include a fountain, lily pond and a mature avenue of trees.
After the ceremony, the garden and barn spaces are used for drinks and receptions; the barn can hold up to 200 people for evening celebrations. Within the estate there is accommodation linked to the venue. Guests can stay onsite in Channels Lodge and related rooms, including bridal preparation and honeymoon suites. The estate also encompasses other venue spaces, offering couples a choice of settings within the same grounds.
