About That Amazing Place
Set in the charming market town of Old Harlow in Essex, That Amazing Place is a truly unique exclusive-use wedding venue, blending historic elegance with modern comforts. At the heart of the estate is a stunning 15th-century Grade II listed manor house, surrounded by over eight acres of picturesque grounds, including sweeping lawns and a tranquil lake perfect for unforgettable wedding photography and romantic outdoor weddings.
Couples booking their wedding take exclusive control of the house and grounds from the morning of the day into the following morning, giving privacy and continuity to the celebration. Up to 31 people can stay onsite overnight in 15 bedrooms that include a dedicated Wedding Cottage adjacent to the main house.
Ceremonies can take place under an outdoor wedding gazebo beside the lake or inside licensed reception rooms. Within the manor, the Lakeview Lounge - with wide bay windows looking onto the water - seats up to around 70 guests; the Hall, with its tall ceilings, can accommodate larger gatherings. For weddings with larger guest lists, a marquee on the grounds expands capacity, seating up to 150 for a wedding breakfast.
The layout and flexibility of spaces mean smaller, seated receptions inside the house and larger marquee gatherings coexist within the same venue, with no minimum guest numbers enforced. Food arrangements are tailored to each couple’s plans through a selection of caterers, with a fully-licensed bar available onsite.
Access from the M11 and proximity to London and Stansted Airport make the venue reachable for out-of-area guests. Its combination of historic architecture, integrated accommodation and flexible indoor and outdoor spaces define the experience of a wedding day that progresses seamlessly from ceremony through evening celebrations.
