About Hodsock Priory

Hodsock Priory sits within 800 acres of countryside on the border of Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire, occupying a historic Grade II-listed country house with gardens and open spaces across its estate. Couples book the venue on an exclusive-use basis, so from arrival through to the evening celebrations the house, grounds and gardens are for their wedding alone.

Weddings can take place in a variety of licensed indoor and outdoor locations. Inside, rooms range from the traditional Panelled Hall and the more contemporary Buchanan Hall to The Pavilion, with French doors opening onto terraces, and smaller, intimate spaces such as the Library or Ante Room. For outdoor ceremonies, the Georgian-style gazebo and other garden settings provide options within the estate.

Receptions and dining typically take place in the Pavilion or other indoor spaces, with access to gardens and terraces as part of the flow of the day. Couples may also choose a church ceremony at the Parish Church of St Mary & St Martin’s, less than two miles away.

On-site accommodation includes seven en-suite bedrooms in the Priory itself plus ten self-contained apartments in The Courtyard, each with its own bathroom and kitchenette. One apartment is wheelchair accessible and another allows pets.

Preparation space for the day includes a Dressing Room and a second dressing area in the Courtyard’s Clubhouse. Evening receptions follow with a choice of catering styles, from outdoor wood-fired pizza (April to September) to hog roasts, barbecues and grazing tables and a breakfast service the morning after a stay is served in the Buchanan Hall.
