About The Tythe Barn

At The Tythe Barn, the centrepiece of weddings is the 14th-century Thatched Barn with its oak beams, stone walls and large barn doors that open to the surrounding estate. The Thatched Barn can be used for your ceremony, wedding breakfast and reception, and its flexible interior adapts to both smaller gatherings and larger celebrations.

Alongside the barn, several dedicated spaces support the different elements of a wedding day. The Nook is a pair of bright, adjoining rooms close to the barn that serve as private preparation space for the couple and can also be used as accommodation. The Lodge, perfectly positioned among the Silver Birch trees and with the 14th century Thatched Barn as it's backdrop, this is the ultimate space to both get ready before the ceremony and host welcome drinks as guests arrive. The Cowshed and Hovel provide a setting for drinks and evening gatherings with floor-to-ceiling glazing, a wood-fired pizza oven and timber features that extend the day beyond the barn itself.

On the estate is The Farmhouse, a 17th-century building with seven double ensuite bedrooms including a Master Wedding Suite, reception rooms, a kitchen and outdoor features such as a tennis court, wood-fuelled hot tub and Shepherd’s Hut with its own ensuite. The Farmhouse and Shepherd’s Hut offer space for guests to stay as part of a wedding weekend.

The estate is licensed for civil ceremonies both indoors within the barn and outdoors in the gardens. Daytime seating of up to 150 guests and evening gatherings of up to 200 are possible under the venue’s licensing.
