About Great Fosters
Nestled in Surrey's picturesque countryside, Great Fosters is a magnificent manor house hotel wedding venue. Its majestic Elizabethan facade and sprawling gardens create a timeless backdrop for your special day. Great Fosters offers elegant spaces for all tastes, including the intimate Jacobean Room and airy Orangery. Each room features original details and bespoke furnishings, creating an atmosphere of warmth and grandeur.
The house is set within 50 acres of gardens and parkland, which are themselves Grade II* listed on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. The formal gardens, designed in 1918 by W. H. Romaine-Walker, are a fine example of the Arts and Crafts style and feature a Saxon moat, a Japanese bridge, and listed parterres. These grounds can be used for outdoor ceremonies and drinks receptions.
For weddings, the Grade II listed Tithe Barn provides a distinct setting. The 17th-century barn, reconstructed on the estate, features exposed oak beams, a minstrels' gallery, and a large fireplace. It can hold up to 180 guests for a ceremony and wedding breakfast, or 250 for an evening reception. The Orangery offers an alternative, with floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto a terrace with views across the gardens and moat, seating up to 130 for a reception. For more intimate ceremonies of up to 50 guests, the historic Arch Room is available in the main house.
Overnight accommodation is provided in 56 individually styled rooms and suites located in the main house, The Cloisters, and The Coach House. Catering is managed by the hotel's on-site team, whose portfolio includes The Tudor Pass, a restaurant which holds a Michelin star and 4 AA Rosettes. A dedicated events team assists with planning, and couples can choose between exclusive or non-exclusive use of the venue.
