Historic venue The Elvetham is fully licensed for civil wedding ceremonies (including a garden summer house), and occupies an idyllic country setting. Hosting intimate gatherings and extravagant celebrations, it's also available for exclusive use.

Steeped in history, The Elvetham is a fairytale wedding venue! This stunning 19th century mansion is set in a family-owned 35 acre estate comprising beautifully manicured gardens, tennis court and croquet lawn. The Elvetham is noted for once hosting Queen Elizabeth I, and for the first performance of Shakespeare's A Mid Summer Night's Dream.

The main house has several elegant reception rooms to accommodate each part of your big day, and you can flow effortlessly from the ceremony to your wedding breakfast and reception. 72 comfortable bedrooms, most with glorious views overlooking the gardens, await guests wishing to stay overnight.

Attention to detail and impeccable service will ensure your special day runs seamlessly. Licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 200 guests, The Elvetham lends itself effortlessly to grand celebrations as well as small and intimate gatherings. The garden summer house is an idyllic ceremony option, approached by a long flowing aisle through an avenue of Irish Yew trees.

The Elvetham’s Wedding Coordinators have a wealth of experience, and being family-run you'll experience a real warmth in hospitality from the team.

For complete privacy, The Elvetham can be hired on an exclusive-use basis. In June 2010 The Elvetham was the venue for the HELLO! countryside wedding of Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

The Elvetham is just a fifteen minute drive from the M3 and M4, and only 40 miles from London.
