Tythe is a beautiful historical wedding venue set in the glorious Oxfordshire countryside. The barn itself was built in the 1370s, and has been run by the same family for over 500 years. This venue is a popular choice for couples who want an intimate barn wedding.
The barn is filled with history and is in the perfect rural location with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for events. Just 10 minutes from junction 9 of the M40 and accessible to stations with direct routes from Birmingham and London, Tythe is a wonderful choice for anybody.

Tythe know that food is at the heart of a celebration and your wedding needs an extra special menu! Tythe partners with Absolute Taste where gifted chefs create fresh seasonal menus. Whether your day calls for some nibbles, something hearty or a more formal meal they can create something beautifully to your preferences. Their signature is slow-cooked Deely-lamb and is a firm favourite among guests! They also offer more quirky dishes which is perfect for foodies!
Weddings and Events
Weddings at Tythe offer a magical blend of history, charm, and expert support, making it an exceptional venue for your special day. Licensed for up to 150 guests, Tythe provides both indoor and outdoor ceremony options. Indoor ceremonies take place in a stunning 14th-century stone barn, complete with oak beams and a canopy of fairy lights, creating a warm and romantic atmosphere. For those who prefer to say their vows surrounded by nature, outdoor ceremonies can be held in various picturesque locations across the estate, such as beneath the oak pergola or along a garden path - weather permitting, of course.
Adjacent to Tythe is the beautiful 12th-century St. Mary's Church, offering the option of a traditional church ceremony. Couples can either walk through the church gate to Tythe for their reception or hold a blessing at the church following a civil ceremony at the barn. St. Mary's comfortably accommodates 100–120 guests, though up to 150 may be possible with prior arrangement. Practicality is also a priority at Tythe, with parking for 75 cars, overnight parking until 10am, and space for larger vehicles. From the moment of your initial enquiry, Tythe's experienced team is by your side. Each couple is assigned a dedicated Wedding Co-ordinator, and the team's guidance continues from early planning stages to post-wedding follow-ups. With over two decades of experience and a genuine commitment to creating unforgettable celebrations, Tythe ensures every detail of your day is thoughtfully taken care of.
