Biagio Patalano opened his first store in Bicester in the late 1980’s with the dream of creating a boutique richly stocked with rare and exclusive gemstones – mesmerizing tanzanites, rubies, emeralds and coloured sapphires filled the windows then and they continue to be at the very heart of what we do today. Bespoke engagement rings from Biagio also available.

The 1990’s saw the opening of a second store in Thame and a growing reputation for trusted advice, excellence and craftsmanship at truly competitive prices. Customers began to come to us, not only for our unique gems but also with previously acquired pieces and heirlooms which they wanted renovating or updating. Rejuvenating family pieces to suit their new guardians, in the knowledge that they would then be worn and enjoyed rather than hidden away, became a particular passion for Biagio, something he found so rewarding that re-design and personalisation are now a core specialism at Biagio the Jewellers.

From here it became an obvious progression that Biagio’s natural talent for jewellery design should be directed towards creating a collection of his own original designs. The focus for every collection was and always will be on using only the most exquisite and unusual gems, mounting each in settings designed to enhance the beauty of each unique stone.

As well as offering our own ‘Artistry of Biagio’ collection, we enjoy nothing quite so much as helping others to express their own creativity and personality by assisting them in bringing to life their own designs to life.

In a further development, Biagio created a core team of diamond specialists, not only to assist customers with expert advice but also to begin the task of sourcing a new range of loose diamonds. Both the diamonds and the specialist training come directly from Antwerp, the diamond centre of the world. All team members attend courses and many have achieved the Professional Jewellers’ Diploma awarded by the National Association of Jewellers.
