A metal framed structure (clearspan) does not require additional space for any guideropes. You will likely only need another 1m in width and length to fit this structure in a space. For example a 12m x 24m marquee would only require 13m x 25m of space. A Sailcloth structure does require more space around it due to having guide ropes. They will need 3m additional space in terms of width & length. So a 12m x 24m Sailcloth marquee would require 15m x 27m of space.

Clearspan Marquees can be installed on grass or a hard surface. If a clearspan Marquee is installed on a hard surface, water/concrete weights are used to secure the structure (this is at an additional cost compared to having a marquee installed on grass). A Sailcloth Marquee does have to be installed onto grass as it requires to be staked into the ground.

We provide coir matting which is the most cost effective type of flooring available and works better in Sailcloth Marquees which adds to the rustic feel. We always recommend a Hard Floor System & Carpet with Clearspan Structures which provides a firm surface to walk & dance on. This floor does follow the undulations of the terrain. If you would like a perfectly levelled floor, we can also offer a casette flooring system which is quite expensive.

Yes you can! As long as your marquee has a Hard Floor System & Carpet & Pleated Linings as these act as an insulator to retain the heat inside the structure. A power and automated diesel heating systems can be added to events from October - April to ensure guests remain comfortable as if you are in a building with heating.

Our Mantra is "Plan for the Worst, Hope for the Best" when it comes to adverse weather. We will guide you and advise some wet weather contingencies for your wedding day to ensure if the weather is bad you have everything covered. This ranges from floored walkways on grassed areas, ensuring there is enough space inside your marquee in case your entire wedding needs to be under cover to even installing your external toilets inside the main structure with a false wall hiding it from view.

Yes we do! We advise heating from wedding event dates from October - April. Our powerful heating systems are automated and work just like the heating system in your own home. They come with a thermostat and regulate the desired temperature in the background, leaving you to focus on enjoying your special day.

In the 14 years we have been running we have never installed air conditioning. With some proper planning and allowing some of the side walls to open up to provide cool airflow in, you will likely not need air conditioning. However if you would like to add in air conditioning inside your marquee, this can be done. It does get very warm underneath a transparent roofed marquee, so we advise any summer weddings that the transparent section of your marquee is for the dance/bar area only.

We have lots of lighting options from Fairy Lighting to External Festoon Lighting -

This mainly depends on your catering requirements. If you caterers are cooking a hot 2/3 course meal and need a catering tent (if your marquee is in a field and they cannot cook from a building) then you will almost certainly need a generator. If you are planning a more informal meal (such as a BBQ/food truck) and there is a building within 40m we can get power for the rest of the marquee (lighting, fridges, band etc) then we can likely use the building's power rather than a generator.

We have a recommended list of wedding decor companies and florists for you to contact who will help to finish off your marquee setting. Lighting is everything in marquees, adding lots of internal LED Fairy Lights and external Festoon Lights are our favourtie!

Assuming your wedding day is on a Saturday, with Abacus, your marquee will typically be installed on a Wednesday/Thursday in the week. this gives your caterer & decor company Friday to finish everything off. This means you know by Friday at 5pm everything is fully set up and complete. We then come on Monday/Tuesday to take everything down and away - leaving you 1/2 days to clear everything away from your side.
