About Still Vision
With nearly 20 years experience photographing weddings all over the UK (and abroad), Cambridge is still the city I most love shooting in. I’ve lived and worked in this beautiful, historic city all my life. It’s where my portrait studio is based. I know every hidden corner of the medieval centre and many of the University colleges too! I also love the wedding venues outside of the city. There are spectacular farm venues, old country mansions & stunning marquees out in the countryside!
Picking a wedding photographer is a big decision! There are lots of ins and lots of outs and it’s not all about photography. Sounds strange, right? Photography skill and quality is important, but there’s so much more to it. How well you get on with your photographer is key. You need to like them! They will be a huge part of your day, present in every moment, even if they aren’t always seen in those moments. You can’t have a wedding photographer annoying your guests, or aggravating the future in-laws. It’s essential you get on well with, can share ideas with and feel comfortable in the company of your wedding photographer. The resulting images will be so much better as a result.
I shoot a modern, mixed style of wedding photography. I’m present when I need to be, direct people when I need to direct them, but I prefer to melt into the background, shooting your wedding unseen. I’ll cruise through your drinks reception, or wedding breakfast without being spotted, capturing real moments between your family and guests. Lovely, informal moments happen everywhere at weddings! Although you might not be keen, I recommend shooting a short list of posed family groups. Trust me when I say you’ll be pleased to have them on your tenth wedding anniversary! I shoot your groups in the least painful way I can. I try to make it fun. When it comes to shooting brides and grooms, I like to have time to get creative! I love using a beautiful wedding venue and all the interesting locations, textures and foliage. If you’ve booked a spectacular venue, you’ve just got to make the most of it!
