About Monkton Barn
Monkton Barn Estate offers couples private, exclusive use of its spaces for weddings and celebrations, with no other events taking place while you’re there. The estate combines a restored 18th-century threshing barn with original oak beams and polished hardwood floors, a large heated marquee attached to the barn, and a gated courtyard framed by plants and olive trees. Its ten-acre meadow and woodland dell extend available settings for ceremony or reception on the day.
Civil ceremonies can take place in multiple settings on the estate, including the barn, the marquee, the meadow, the pavilion and the woodland dell, giving couples choice about where they exchange vows. The barn and attached marquee together accommodate guests for seated dining or for a standing reception and party. The Meadow Bar and wooden pavilion in the meadow offer outdoor focal points, and there are no formal noise restrictions so music and DJs can continue late into the night.
Practical amenities include a private preparation room known as The Hen House near the barn, the Tasting Room where menu selections take place, and unlimited free parking with the option for guests to leave cars overnight. Marquees of various styles can be used on the meadow or in the woods for larger plans, and there is a directory of suppliers and contractors available for hire alongside furnishings from the venue’s own “PropShop.”

Yes we certainly allow candles! we love the ambience it creates!
We have a private room available throughout the day. The Hen House is just across from the barn and can be used for whatever reason you choose; bridal prep, baby feeding, or just a quiet place to retreat to!
