FAQs

Yes, all our weddings get exclusive use of the venue, except in the instances where a booking is already in place on your preferred date. You will always be told if this is the case.

We are fully licensed to hold wedding ceremonies at the Temple of Peace. We’d be delighted if you’d consider us for your all day celebrations, from the ceremony and the reception and all the way through until the end of your evening party.

We do have gardens within the grounds of the Temple, if you wish to have your ceremony outside please discuss this with the Venue Manager.

Unfortunately, corkage is not an option at the Temple of Peace. All bar services and the provision of alcohol is arranged through our catering partner, Town & Country Catering.

We prefer the use of only our partner caterers as they meet our ethics of sustainability and fair wages for their staff, as well as being able to work well with the limitations of our kitchen. We have preferred caterers that can cater for most cuisines, including Halal, vegetarian and vegan. Please do get in touch for more information or if you have special circumstances and we can work together to meet your needs.

You are able to set up on the morning of your wedding from 9am, depending upon the time your celebrations start, however if the venue is not in use the day prior to your wedding, you would be welcome to come in the day before set up, up to 5pm. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t be able to commit to this or confirm until the week before your wedding.

The reception would need to end by 1am.

We love live music, DJ’s and a good party at the Temple and as long as your band or DJ can provide us with their PAT testing certification in advance of your wedding date, they are most welcome!

Unfortunately, fireworks and Chinese lanterns are not permitted inside or outside the building, due to restrictions in place by our landlords. We also do not permit balloon, butterfly or dove releases, due to the adverse impact on our natural world. For a full list of restricted items, please refer to our Terms & Conditions of booking.

Confetti can be used outside the building as long as it is biodegradable. We suggest using petals or another natural material as these are both beautiful and do not have adverse affects on the environment.

Any candles must be contained within lanterns. If you would like to have open candles they must be LED or similar and not a naked flame.

There is no accommodation at the Temple of Peace.

We have an exclusive partnership with prestigious independent hotel Cathedral 73 in Pontcanna. By choosing the Temple of Peace for your venue hire, we can secure up to a 45% discount on your bed and breakfast booking at the hotel. We are very fortunate being in the centre of Cardiff to have a number of fantastic hotels to suit all tastes and budgets, within a short walk of the Temple of Peace. Many of these offer group booking discounts, if you let them know that we referred them to you: The Lincoln House Hotel The Hilton Hotel The Park Plaza Jury’s Inn Travelodge
