Following a multi-million-pound transformation, Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere enters an exciting new chapter. Surrounded by tranquil waters, mature woodland and landscaped grounds, our licensed ceremony spaces and spectacular Grand Ballroom offer panoramic lake views, impressive ceiling heights and flexible layouts for celebrations of every size. Our dedicated wedding team will help create a day that is entirely yours, delivered with Fairmont’s legendary service.
The venue holds civil ceremonies for up to 750 guests, with both indoor and outdoor settings available. For larger celebrations, the 1,000-square-metre Grand Ballroom can hold up to 1,000 people and can be divided into six smaller spaces for more adaptable events. Other function rooms include the James Braid Suite, with a private entrance for up to 550 guests, and the Mere Suite, which features a veranda and holds up to 120. A dry hire wedding package is offered for the Grand Ballroom, providing use of the kitchens for external caterers and the support of a dedicated event coordinator.
Overnight guests can stay in one of 116 rooms, which include 23 suites. Many rooms have views across the golf course or The Mere Lake. Dining options on site include Gordon Ramsay at The Mere, serving a British-inspired menu and The Orangery for afternoon tea, which becomes a champagne and oyster bar in the evening. The Club Lounge offers globally inspired and Indian-influenced dishes.
The resort also has extensive leisure facilities. There is an 18-hole championship golf course and the Fairmont Spa, located in a restored Victorian stable block. The spa includes a 20-metre swimming pool, a Finnish barrel sauna, ice baths, and steam rooms. For convenience, the property has 450 parking spaces.

Yes. Biodegradable confetti, such as dried petals, is welcome in agreed outdoor areas, and makes for beautiful photographs against the lake and grounds. Our Wedding Co-ordinator will advise on the best spots for your confetti moment.
Yes. Candles in suitable enclosed holders, such as glass hurricane lanterns, are welcome to add a warm, romantic glow to your ceremony and wedding breakfast. LED candles are a lovely alternative for some spaces, and our team will advise on what works best for your chosen room.
