Commitment to LGBTQIA+ Couples
MUSEUMS ARE FOR EVERYONE We believe our museums should be welcoming spaces for all. Creating inclusive spaces isn’t just something we aim for, it’s part of who we are. Across National Museums NI, we work to make sure a wide range of voices and stories are represented, and that our spaces reflect the richness and diversity of Northern Ireland today. We’re incredibly proud to have shared so many special moments with LGBTQIA+ couples at both Cultra Manor and the Ulster Museum, from ceremonies to receptions and everything in between. It’s a privilege to be part of those celebrations, and we’re committed to making sure every couple feels comfortable, welcomed, and fully themselves when they’re with us. In 2025, the Ulster Museum was honoured to be voted Gay NI Magazine’s 'Wedding Venue of the Year' - something that means a great deal to us and reflects the experiences of the couples we’ve been lucky enough to work with.
