Howard Court Weddings is a romantic, family-run countryside wedding venue set within a beautifully restored historic home in North Yorkshire. The venue has been part of our family for over 50 years, originally a much-loved family home filled with memories of growing up, family gatherings, and life in the countryside.
Over time, we have lovingly transformed the original stable barns, cow shed, and surrounding buildings into a unique and characterful wedding venue that blends rustic charm with elegant, timeless style. Each space has been thoughtfully restored to retain its original character while creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for modern celebrations.
A very special part of Howard Court’s story is The Old Dairy, which was converted into a ceremony space in 2023. This holds even more meaning as Jules, one of our venue owners, became the first bride to marry there in her own wedding here at Howard Court.
As a family, we feel incredibly lucky to now share our home with couples on one of the most important days of their lives. Caroline has so many treasured memories here with her children and family, and it is truly special to now watch new families create their own memories within the same space.
We specialise in relaxed, personal and meaningful weddings, where every couple feels supported from their first visit through to the wedding day itself. Our dedicated team works closely with you to ensure everything runs smoothly, so you can fully enjoy every moment.

Our converted barns are supported by a ground source heating system, providing an energy-efficient and environmentally conscious way of heating the venue throughout the year. This allows us to reduce our reliance on traditional energy sources while maintaining a comfortable and welcoming space for our couples and their guests. Where possible, we aim to reuse and restore existing buildings and materials rather than replace them, preserving the original character of Howard Court while reducing unnecessary waste. The transformation of our stable barns and cow shed into a wedding venue is a key example of this approach, giving new life to historic structures that are deeply rooted in our family history. We also encourage thoughtful planning around waste and supplier choices, working with couples and suppliers who share our values wherever possible. As we continue to grow, we are committed to exploring further sustainable practices that help us protect and preserve the countryside setting we are so lucky to call home.
