With a history that begins in 1324, Cartmel Old Grammar Country House was originally established as a school by the Priests of Cartmel Priory. Today, the Grade II listed building provides a distinct setting for weekend weddings in the Lake District National Park. Inside, period details such as oak panelling and open fireplaces are a feature of the house, while outside, private walled gardens are available for drinks receptions and photography.

The venue operates on an exclusive-hire basis, ensuring complete privacy for the wedding party from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning. A dedicated wedding coordinator supports the planning process and provides on-the-day management. Civil ceremonies for up to 80 guests are held in the Campbell Room. Following the ceremony, the wedding breakfast is served in The Cavendish Restaurant, which also seats 80 guests. For the evening reception, the space can hold up to 120 people.

All food is prepared on-site by the culinary team, led by Head Chef Gerald van der Walt, and served from The Cavendish Restaurant, complemented by a private bar service. For overnight stays, the country house has 11 bedrooms, including a bridal suite. A separate three-bedroom cottage is also available on the grounds, providing accommodation for a total of 28 guests. The property includes on-site parking.
