About Irton Hall
With a history that reaches back to the 14th century, Irton Hall stands in Cumbria’s western Lake District. The building, which includes an original pele tower, is set between the valleys of Eskdale and Wasdale, offering a base to explore the surrounding fells and nearby coastline. The grounds feature a 1000-year-old oak tree known as 'The King's Oak', where legend holds that King Henry VI took shelter.
For weddings and events, the venue provides the Grey Lady Suite, a dedicated building with both indoor and outdoor space. Civil ceremonies can also be held within the main hall, which offers the Great Hall, seating up to 120 guests, or the more intimate Library.
Guest accommodation is available on-site, with fifteen rooms located inside the main house. These range from doubles to family rooms and occupy historic sections of the building, including the pele tower and the former ballroom. Additional self-catering options are provided through several cottages and apartments on the estate.
The hall has an on-site restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, alongside a lounge bar with a selection of wines and ales. For guest convenience, the venue provides on-site parking and an electric vehicle charging point.
