Colchester Weddings offers couples a choice of historic and larger event spaces within the centre of Colchester, Essex, each suited to different types of ceremonies and celebrations. At the heart of the collection is Colchester Castle, set at the gated entrance to Castle Park on the site of the Temple of Claudius.
This heritage venue dates back to when Colchester was the first Roman capital of Britain and offers three distinct indoor spaces to host ceremonies and receptions for up to around 150 guests by night, when the venue is reserved exclusively for wedding parties.
In the town centre, the Baroque-style Town Hall occupies a prominent position with ornate interiors, stained glass, oil paintings and several function rooms licensed for weddings and receptions. Its range of spaces allows celebrations for a broader guest list, and there is on-site town centre parking available for guests.
For significantly larger gatherings, Charter Hall provides extensive event space with flexible room configurations that can be combined for large-scale ceremonies and receptions, and benefits from advanced audiovisual equipment and a substantial on-site car park.
Colchester Weddings supports planning from ceremony to reception. Couples licensed by Essex Registrars choose their preferred venue for civil ceremonies, and the range of rooms across the properties allows combinations of ceremony, meal and evening celebration tailored to guest numbers and format.
