Mersea Island Vineyard sits on Rewsalls Lane in East Mersea, Essex, within a working vineyard that also produces local wine and ale and includes a café, shop and bed-and-breakfast. The licensed ceremony spaces let couples marry on site without the need to travel elsewhere.

Two distinct event spaces are offered so the day can be shaped around guest numbers and preferences. A Vineyard Barn can seat up to 40 for a meal and holds up to 100 for a ceremony, and is available year-round. For larger celebrations a marquee on the vineyard lawn hosts up to 200 guests from Easter through to late September, with views out across vines and access from the lawn and patio areas. Both spaces have a fully licensed bar and catering is offered on site; couples may also bring in their own caterers if they choose. After the formal part of the day, guests can enjoy the wider setting of vines and the surrounding landscape. The wider site includes the vineyard’s café and shop for refreshments and local gifts, and guest rooms in the bed-and-breakfast offer an option for overnight stays. The combination of vineyard setting, flexible spaces and amenities on site creates a day that can be paced to suit each couple’s plans.
