About Tuffon Hall Vineyard

Nestled in the idyllic Essex countryside, Tuffon Hall Vineyard offers a captivating backdrop for your dream wedding. Surrounded by sprawling vineyards and manicured gardens, this enchanting venue seamlessly blends natural beauty with elegance. Exchange vows in the charming oak-beamed barn, adorned with twinkling fairy lights and soaring ceilings, creating an intimate ambiance. Sip on bespoke cocktails while enjoying panoramic views from the terrace.

Our 400 year old threshing barn provides the perfect backdrop for year round licensed ceremonies. It comfortably accommodates up to 100 seated and 200 standing. We have retained as much of the barn's heritage as possible, for the old beams and traditional red brickwork to the original arrow slits which we have framed to add to their character. To the rear there is a gorgeous rose-lined terrace and a lovely lawned garden, also licensed for ceremonies, where guests can relax. Underfloor groundsource heating allows year round use whilst large glass windows on both sides of the barn let in as much daylight as possible, capturing beautiful sunsets across the back lawn during the evenings.

Out in the vineyard, our cedar-wood gazebo stands proud at the top of the lawn and is the perfect place to exchange vows during the summer months. After your ceremony, enjoy a glass of our award-winning sparkling wine and photographs amongst the vines before wandering across to the Cellar Door for your wedding breakfast and evening reception.

FAQs

The last ‘anthem’ is played at 11pm and can be followed with background music or even a silent disco until the bar closes at 11:30pm.

We welcome all bands inside the Cellar Door. Live music must finish at 9pm when your DJ can take over or your playlist can run via your own device. All performers / playlists must plug into our inhouse sound system in order to comply with our license. There is a sound limiter to monitor volume throughout but please rest assured this does not shut off the power or stop the party

In line with our Insurance Policy, in order to protect the barn and its surroundings and out of respect for our neighbours, we do not permit the use of any naked flames or fireworks anywhere on site. We suggest battery operated candles, twinkling fairy lights and colourful smoke canons (outside use only) for those picture perfect moments.

In order to preserve our natural surroundings, we allow biodegradable confetti only.

We have free wi-fi throughout the Cellar Door and in The Farmhouse.

Professional videographers only are permitted to use a drone. Full licensing documentation & insurance certificates must be supplied to us in advance.

Our Sustainability Commitments

In our continued efforts to be more ecologically responsible in a typically disposable industry, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We use renewable energy wherever possible - The Farmhouse used for wedding accommodation is heated using a biomass boiler, whilst the Cellar Door reception barn is heated using ground source underfloor heating. Our barn is powered by energy produced from our solar panels. When it comes to recommended suppliers, our policy is to work with only the finest local companies and inviduals who each promote a similar eco-friendly ethos. Our florists for example are plastic and oasis free, our caterers use local and ethically sourced ingredients etc. On the farm, we are proud to be recognised for our environmental efforts and are winners of the Conservation Prize for the whole of Essex and winners of the Best Farm in Essex. We grow over 10 hectares of wild bird seed which has dramatically increased the number of small birds on the farm. We have also grown over 10 hectares of pollen and nectar-rich plants to encourage bees, the heartbeat of our countryside. We have planted over 1km of hedging which are wildlife corridors as well as carbon captures. We have planted borage which is used in salads and soups and also used for skincare products and to treat colds and bronchitis. The bees love it too and by harvesting nectar from these beautiful purple flowers, they have helped us produce the most amazing honey.
