About Kimpton Clocktower Hotel
Set within a Grade II listed Victorian building in central Manchester, Kimpton Clocktower Hotel brings together historic architecture and large-scale event spaces designed for celebrations of very different sizes. Civil ceremonies can take place on site for gatherings from 15 up to 700 guests, with a choice of distinctive rooms shaping how the day unfolds.
The Ballroom, formerly the Refuge Assurance staff dining room, is the hotel’s largest wedding space and one of the largest ballrooms in the North West of England. Original listed features sit alongside practical additions for larger celebrations, including natural daylight, a private bar, dedicated entrance from Waterhouse Way and its own stage. An exclusive private kitchen supports wedding dining within the space itself.
For smaller celebrations, the oak-panelled Directors’ Suite offers an intimate setting for up to 60 guests, reached via an ornate marble staircase and licensed for civil ceremonies as well as dining. Alternative settings include the light-filled Winter Garden and The Terrace courtyard, providing additional spaces for different parts of the celebration and photography throughout the building.
Couples planning a full wedding weekend can arrange rehearsal dinners or post-wedding brunches within the hotel’s dining spaces, while discounted wedding room blocks allow guests to stay together on site. A Bridal Boudoir is available for pre-wedding preparations, alongside menu tastings and planning meetings with the Executive Chef. Each wedding is supported by a dedicated on-site Wedding Manager overseeing arrangements from planning through to the day itself.
