About The Priory Barn
Built in 1541 for a master carpenter to King Henry VIII, the Tithe Barn is a significant part of Hertfordshire's architectural history. Run by owners Michelle and Bill Bacon, the business has specialised in hosting weddings since 1992. The barn’s interior is defined by timber beams and a flagstone floor, with a raised stage suitable for a top table or entertainment. The barn can hold up to 220 guests for a ceremony or wedding breakfast, with capacity for 350 for an evening reception.
The Priory Barn is licensed for civil ceremonies, offering the option to hold the entire wedding day on the property. Bookings provide exclusive use of the barn and its landscaped gardens. Outdoor ceremonies are also an option, and the team provides a personal planning service to assist with arrangements.
