Absolutely! Forss House is a relaxed and intimate venue. Exclusive use will give you run of the grounds, the main house, and all 14 bedrooms. For the ultimate country house wedding experience, we recommend exclusive use! We offer exceptionally competitive prices for exclusive use weddings.
As a Scottish wedding venue, we don't actually require a license! In Scotland it is the individual (e.g. the registrar) who holds the license, as opposed to the venue. This means that you can get married anywhere (with the landowner's permission!) With that in mind, we have complete flexibility on where you hold your ceremony - in the main house, the gardens, by the waterfall, or in the surrounding grounds.
Definitely! Outdoor weddings are available at Forss House Hotel. You can get married on the lawns, in the surrounding grounds, or at the edge of the meandering River Forss.
No. We have an exceptionally talented culinary team, and are the only restaurant in Caithness with 2AA Rosettes. All catering is taken care of by our team, and our Head Chef will design a menu that reflects your taste, the season, and any dietary requirements.
We encourage exclusive use of the venue, starting the day before your ceremony. In this instance, you will be able to access the hotel from 12:00. Otherwise, access will be available from the morning of your ceremony. Our friendly team will do everything they can to help ensure everything goes smoothly, and will help you plan these aspects.
Yes! We allow fireworks at our wedding venue.
Yes! We allow biodegradable confetti and dried petal confetti at our wedding venue.
Yes, candles are allowed at our wedding venue.
Absolutely! In fact, there is a choice of bridal suites! We recommend one of our Radclyffe Bedrooms - Brimside, Torran and Cairnmore - located in the main house, they are our most luxurious bedrooms. These suites feature roll-top tubs, his and hers sinks, and garden views.
Yes, we have 14 bedrooms in the main house and gardens, plus a 4 riverside suites located in separate cottages.
Yes, we can recommend additional accommodation in Thurso and surrounds.
Definitely! Forss House Hotel is a very dog-friendly hotel, in fact we even have our own pup on site. You are very welcome to invite your four-legged friends to your wedding.
