Our Sustainability Commitments

At the Hythe Imperial, we recognise the importance of protecting our environment and are committed to operating in a way that reduces our ecological impact. Our dedication to sustainability is demonstrated through continuous improvements across all aspects of our business. We are proud to have been awarded a bronze ECOsmart certification, which reflects our efforts to meet recognised environmental standards. Our sustainability journey is ongoing, and we are committed to improving our practices to ensure we do our part for the planet. Through the ECOsmart certification, the Hythe Imperial remains dedicated to creating a positive impact both locally and globally. Energy Efficiency - We actively monitor and reduce energy consumption by using energy-efficient lighting, appliances, and smart systems to minimise waste, e.g., PIR lighting in all corridors. Our exterior lighting and chandelier are on timers. Water Conservation - We have our own well on site. This is used to fill the large ponds at our hotel entrance and to irrigate the hotel gardens and Golf Course. Waste Management - We aim to reduce, reuse, and recycle as much as possible. We work with local waste management partners Biffa to ensure our recycling practices are efficient and impactful. Sustainable Procurement - We prioritise working with suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability. Whenever possible, we source locally to reduce the carbon footprint of our products, for example Butcher of Brogadale and Aldington Fine Foods. Community Engagement - We support local communities by participating in community charities such as the Kent and Sussex Air Ambulance ad AquAid. Carbon Footprint Reduction - We are partnered with Yu Energy allowing us to regularly assess our carbon emissions through their Energy Audit and Healthcheck Tool. We seek opportunities to minimise them through energy-efficient operations.
