About Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa
Set within a 700-year-old country manor house in Lancashire, Mercure Blackburn Dunkenhalgh Hotel & Spa combines historic architecture with contemporary hotel facilities for weddings of varying sizes. Original features including turrets, porticos and a sweeping staircase remain part of the building, while the surrounding grounds and courtyard spaces provide areas for drinks receptions and photography throughout the day.
Celebrations take place across a choice of licensed event suites, allowing couples to plan anything from smaller gatherings to larger weddings. The Pendle Suite is the largest space, holding up to 400 guests and designed for full-scale receptions, including evening celebrations with space for dining and dancing. Additional suites within the original manor house offer alternative settings for ceremonies or more intimate occasions.
Ceremonies can be held indoors or outdoors within the grounds, followed by receptions that move through the hotel’s function rooms and shared spaces. The Cameo Restaurant and bar form part of the wider guest experience, alongside spa and leisure facilities available during overnight stays.
The hotel includes 175 bedrooms, allowing guests to stay on site, with preferential accommodation rates available for wedding parties. Wedding packages include an overnight stay for the couple, with the option to upgrade to a Bridal Suite featuring a four-poster bed and freestanding bath. Weddings here typically unfold across one location, with ceremony, reception and accommodation all incorporated within the manor house and its grounds.

We are a venue with all different exclusive suites than can accommodate for your guests from 50 to 380, each room is unique and has its own characteristics.

We are licensed venue to hold ceremonies outdoors in our perfect picturesque gardens and courtyards.
We offer a corkage price from £18.00 a bottle however, with our exceptional wines from around the world you will find the perfect choice of wine in our establishment.
We do allow for you to bring your own caterers, they must be able to produce a copy of a food hygiene certificate, public liability Insurance and Health & Safety certificate.

Receptions need to be finished at 1am.
There are noise restrictions however we do ask for entertainment acts to be accommodating to all guests staying with us at the hotel.
Fireworks are not allowed.

Yes, The bridal suite is complimentary on the night of the wedding. If you would like the suite the night before the wedding, this will be subject to charge.
Yes we have 175 Bedrooms at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa. We are also pleased to offer preferential accommodation rates for your guests which can also be extended prior to and after your wedding for those guests wishing to take advantage of a longer stay and relax in the tranquil rolling Lancashire countryside.
