Thornton Manor is a Grade II* listed historic country house wedding venue on the Wirral Peninsula, Cheshire, within easy reach of Liverpool, Chester and Manchester. Once the family home of Lord Leverhulme, the estate is offered on an exclusive-use basis, giving couples the whole house, grounds and luxury on-site accommodation for their celebration.

Every wedding is exclusive use, so you and your guests have the whole house, grounds and accommodation to yourselves for the duration of your celebration.

Asian and multicultural celebrations — including Hindu, Sikh, Muslim and fusion weddings — can be hosted end-to-end on one site, from Mehndi, Sangeet and Haldi through to ceremony, reception and Walima, with the privacy of exclusive use throughout, room for up to 250 guests, and cottage accommodation for 78.

The estate sleeps up to 78 guests across Manor House bedrooms, cottages and annexes, with stays from £75 per person, per night. Breakfast is not included with any cottage.

Thornton Manor is a living heritage estate, and caring for it responsibly is part of how we work. As custodians of a Grade II* listed house and its historic grounds, we take a long-term view: conserving rather than replacing, and making choices that protect the estate for the couples who will marry here in decades to come. One site, fewer journeys Because ceremony, reception and accommodation are all on the estate, guests can walk between them rather than travel by car or taxi. For multi-day weddings, that means every event across the celebration happens in one place, with 14 on-site cottages sleeping up to 78 guests and no daily commute between hotel and venue. Working with local suppliers We work with recommended suppliers from across the Wirral and Cheshire wherever we can, which supports the regional economy and keeps delivery miles down. Helping couples plan a lower-impact wedding We're happy to talk through ways to reduce a wedding's footprint, from seasonal and locally sourced menus to reusable décor and confetti that's kind to the grounds.

Every couple is welcome at Thornton Manor, and every wedding here is planned around the two people at the centre of it. We don't work from a template — there's no assumed "bride and groom", no default running order and no expectations about who walks down the aisle, who gives a speech or how the day unfolds. Your day, your way From the ceremony to the last dance, we'll shape the celebration around you. That might mean two aisles, a joint entrance, separate getting-ready spaces in the cottages, or none of the above. Our team is experienced in planning weddings for LGBTQIA+ couples and will ask, rather than assume, how you'd like every part of the day to feel. A private, exclusive-use setting With exclusive use of the estate and on-site accommodation for up to 78 guests, your wedding is entirely your own space, shared only with the people you've chosen to be there.
