About Norwood Park Country House

Celebrate exclusively at our secluded country house on the Norwood Park estate in Nottinghamshire. Restored to its original grandeur, picture a sweeping staircase, elegant rooms, and gorgeous grounds as the backdrop to your intimate event.

With an incredible history holding wedding ceremonies, feel confident in our team to bring your dream wedding to life here at Norwood. Nestled just a short drive from Southwell Minster, your traditional wedding ceremony can begin in a charming local venue and continue back at our picturesque house.

If chosen, hold a romantic ceremony in the main house Drawing Room for an intimate exchanging of vows, seating up to 80 guests. For a more modern touch, The Gallery’s open and bright atmosphere is transformed to host larger ceremonies of up to 160. For outdoor ceremonies, Imagine up to 140 seated guests and 50 standing, all surrounded by the perfect backdrop. Available from the beginning of May until the close of September, the outdoor bandstand offers views of the house and breath-taking scenery for an idyllic ceremony choice.

Continue the celebrations over your wedding breakfast, looking out over the estate, in the Dining Room with 60 of your most cherished. Or choose to indulge in a sit-down meal lit up by cascading chandeliers in The Gallery. Styled to seat up to 160 guests, it’s the ideal open space for enjoying speeches or your chosen entertainment.

Whether you’re choosing a package or bespoke menu the team can adapt to your personal dietary requirements. Our in-house chefs take enormous pride in the quality, taste and presentation of every dish they create. Ensuring your guests rave about the fantastic food long after the day is over.

Invite your evening guests to celebrate into the night with you, accommodating up to 250, the large dance floor, full bar and outside courtyard awaits. When you and your guests aren’t quite ready to stop the late night celebrations, return to the main house for full use of the Bramley Bar. Take in the joys of your day, as the bar offers a night-cap to those staying over.

Mid Week weddings offer a great opportunity to have your dream wedding venue at a fraction of the venue hire cost compared to Fridays & Weekends. Typically our Mid Week venue hire costs are around 50% less than on a Friday and weekends. Now, it's time to go one step further; for bookings made for a Mid Week date in 2025. We are offering a venue hire fee of just £1,500. So, choose any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday date in 2025 and get in touch!

Norwood Park is an exclusive use venue, meaning that you will have 100% exclusivity from 12 noon until 12am on the day of your celebrations.

Yes! Norwood Park has three areas approved for Civil Ceremonies. The first is the Drawing Room where up to 80 guests may enjoy the ceremony, while our Gallery can seat up to 160 guests for the Ceremony. If the weather is on your side, you also have the option of the Starkey Bandstand In the Garden, our bandstand is also approved for a ceremony with seating for up to 140 guests and standing space for a further 50 guests.

No, it isn't possible to bring your own drinks to Norwood Park. However our Norwood Bar is fully stocked with a variety of different drinks to cater to requirements.

No, this isn't possible. However our exceptional Kitchen team will be more than happy to make the exact menu you are looking for. We do not allow on site food trucks, ice cream vans or outside caterers.

Your exclusive use of Norwood Park is from 12 noon until 12am on the day of your celebration, however our Events Team are happy to talk through arrival times to decorate the venue.

Our bar and music licences, both end at midnight and therefore we ask that non-staying guests vacate Norwood Park by 12.00 midnight at the latest.

Yes we ask that the music level is respectful for guests who have gone to bed early, however our music licence ends at midnight and therefore the band can play up to 12 midnight at the latest.

Yes, you may book a professional "non-bang" fireworks company to supply and manage your fireworks on the night. We also allow the use of sparklers outside in the gardens and on the terrace. We request that you only use the fireworks supplier from our Black Book.

While we do not allow guests to throw confetti in or around the Main House and Gallery, we do allow you to throw natural/biodegradable petals on the front lawn. We do not allow the use of confetti canons.

All candles must be contained, however we do allow candelabras for the Wedding Breakfast which will be lit once everyone is seated.

Yes, Norwood Park hosts 17 charming bedrooms for the Bride and Groom to choose their Honeymoon Suite. Couples normally choose our Viscount Bedroom or The Countess Suite as their Honeymoon Bedroom.

Yes! We have 19 bedrooms across the House, sleeping up to 47 adults in total when every bedroom is fully occupied.

Yes, there are a number of accommodation options near to Norwood Park that we can recommend to you.

Yes, we require a minimum of 25 adult day time guests for your Wedding here at Norwood Park from Monday - Wednesday, 50 adult day time guests Thursday & Sunday and 70 adult day time guests for a Friday & Saturday

When you book Norwood Park, the following items are included should you wish to use them: Chairs, round or rectangle trestle tables and white table cloths, white napkins, silver cutlery, crockery, table numbers, easel, red carpet, golf buggy for pictures, cake stands and knives, and postbox.

At Norwood Park we are committed to improving our environmental impact and implementing schemes to reduce our carbon footprint. We pledged to reduce our direct impact on the environment by dynamically managing our waste and consumption of natural resources. It is our duty to reduce our environmental impact on society so that we have an Estate that can develop for future generations. Sustainability is at the heart of our business practice, our policy aims to implement and monitor environmental actions within our organisation and adapt our any policies to make internal improvements when necessary. The below strategies have been carefully thought through and vetted to ensure that we are not only meeting with relevant environmental legislation, but activity pursuing a suitable business model. - Biomass Boiler providing heating & hot water to the Main House. This is powered using woodchip from the Estate timber. - Electronic communications are used as much as possible to reduce paper waste. - Any paper that is used is made from recycled sources. - Our glass waste is collected and sorted by a local charity that provides work-based training placements to Adults with Learning Disabilities. - We have joined a number of Government Lead schemes such as the Sustainable Farming Incentives to improve the environmental impact of our Estate, which involves allocating large portions of the Estate to improving biodiversity. - An active approach to reduce electricity usage. - Electric vehicle charging points, to support sustainable travel. - Minimised use of single use plastic products We continue to evolve our policies to ensure we have a holistic approach and that our strategies are comprehensive to the current climate.
