About The Pumping House
The Pumping House is a beautiful Grade II listed Nottinghamshire wedding venue, featuring a licensed ceremony room, main hall for wedding breakfasts, accommodation and a large lawn for outdoor drinks receptions.
Late licensed to 1am, our beautiful red brick building, still featuring the original and distinctive chimney, is located on a six-acre site in the heart of Sherwood Forest. The tranquil surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for weddings and offers ample opportunity for unique photography. The Pumping House is just a short drive from Retford, Mansfield, Newark, Sheffield, Lincoln and Nottingham.
Our Engine Hall offers unique tiling, stunning arch windows and high glass ceiling creating an illuminating space your wedding breakfast, evening celebrations or large civil ceremonies.
Following your ceremony, we have ample space for your guests to explore our themed rooms, games room and conservatory bar. Alternatively, guests may wish to enjoy their drinks on our lawn surrounded by woodland.
Using only the finest ingredients, using locally sourced products when possible, we aim to create delicious, rustic, home-made food. Our head chefs understand the importance of every wedding breakfast and offer a menu where couples are free to pick and choose dishes from each suggested menu. Alternatively, we are always happy to discuss and design a bespoke wedding breakfast menu for the day.
Drawing inspiration from our storied past, The Pumping House unveils an oasis of beautifully thought-through luxury apartments. Nestled at the rear of our historic venue, these sumptuous, self-catering suites reinvigorate authentic Edwardian architecture with contemporary elegance – the perfect wedding accommodation for guests. Our flagship Bridal Suite is a breath-taking haven capaciously spanning over two floors. Stylised with harmonious, geometric forms, original antique furniture blends with exposed brick walls conjuring chic Bauhaus modernism.
Industrial meets modern at The Pumping House, the look and feel of our venue itself certainly makes us stand out.
