Situated in the heart of historic Oxford, the UK’s oldest botanic garden is an oasis of calm, removed from the hustle and bustle of the High Street. The perfect venue for a drinks reception, garden party or a truly unique wedding reception set against a stunning botanical backdrop. Dry hire wedding receptions from June - September for up to 200 guests.

The Events Lawn is a stunning and versatile setting for many types of occasions. It accommodates a marquee for up to 200 guests and offers exclusive use of the site from 6pm. It sits within our historic Walled Garden, which dates back to 1621 and forms the oldest part of the Botanic Garden. The lawn provides a tranquil, secluded haven and creates an ideal location for a truly unique wedding celebration.

The conservatory is one of our seven display glasshouses, and perfect for an intimate gathering. The conservatory can host up to 60 guests for a standing drinks reception, around 30-35 people for a talk or lecture, and 20 people for a seated dinner.

We host weddings during the warmer months outside of the University term, and other events year-round.

Aside from the Conservatory, Oxford Botanic Garden is an outdoor venue, so please take weather and temperature into account when planning your event. To ensure comfort, we recommend hiring a marquee or stretch tent.
