Plas Dinam is a family‑run, exclusive use country house nestled in the hills of Powys, Mid Wales , offering couples a relaxed, countryside wedding experience across its sweeping lawns, wildflower meadows and historic rooms. With our flexible spaces for ceremonies, receptions or banquets (from intimate gatherings to 160‑guest parties), it invites you to personalise your whole wedding weekend, whether that’s sharing a meal, dancing under a glass roofed barn or wandering woodland paths at sunset.
Set in the spectacular scenery of Mid Wales, Plas Dinam is a family-run country wedding venue located in Newtown, Powys. Featuring a unique old stabled wedding barn, this rural property offers to-be-weds absolute freedom to make the grounds their own. With exclusive access for their special day, couples can enjoy a weekend wedding oasis complete with the suppliers and drinks of their choice. For outdoor ceremonies and rustic wedding escapes, this venue promises endless backdrops fit for falling in love all over again.
Facilities and Capacity
The grounds at Plas Dinam are bursting with a vibrant array of wildflower meadows and mountain vistas ideal for a fairytale romance. During summery months, to-be-weds and their loved ones can soak up the occasion on the picturesque lawn. Here against breathtaking views, guests can sip on refreshing drinks and enjoy outdoor games while the newlyweds take advantage of the ample photo opportunities. Recently renovated, The Old Stables is a decidedly chic country setting featuring atmospheric lighting, a glass ceiling, and quirky bathroom facilities. Up to 160 guests can be comfortably seated in the main courtyard, while the beautiful oak dance floor is an ideal space for letting loose. Winter weddings can enjoy an intimate wonderland in the elegant indoor rooms. The drawing room is an excellent option for a touching ceremony shared with 60 friends and family. The hall also offers a delightful space for feasting amidst toasts to the happy couple. Up to 34 guests can avail of the 15 spacious bedrooms for overnight stays as well as use of the accessible bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor, while the exquisite lodge house can provide a further three bedrooms.

Our Sustainability Commitments
We love Plas Dinam and as 5th generation owners we see ourselves as custodians of this amazing house and beautiful, unknown area of Wales. This historic country house has been nestled in the stunning Severn valley since 1873: we strive to minimise our impact on the environment to ensure that this welcoming home and beautiful scenery will be enjoyed for decades to come. Mid Wales is a beautiful part of the world and we believe strongly in investing in both the local economy and the local environment. The Davies family is responsible for around 4000 acres surrounding Plas Dinam, with an ethos of low intensity farming and encouraging and preserving wildness. Plas Dinam’s wildflower meadow is over 40 years old, it gets better every year with 52 species of flowers and grasses, along with all the insects and butterflies that these attract. There’s a broad range of tree species and we actively plant new trees in the grounds, much of the 13 acres of grounds is deciduous woodland. Some trees are remarkable and others ancient, 8 are registered as Champions in Powys and Wales, 1 is a British Champion! There are many bird species that nest in and around Plas Dinam, including the once threatened species, the Red Kite. Plas Dinam is heated via a biomass boiler which is fuelled by airdried woodchip harvested from the Dinam estate. The wood is collected from within a couple of miles from Plas Dinam and after drying for 2 seasons it is chipped into the store alongside the boiler. The woods are carefully managed and replanted. Thus this system is sustainable and carbon neutral. We recycle and reuse to reduce our carbon footprint and use local, independent eco-friendly wedding suppliers where possible. We use eco-friendly and sustainable cleaning products and skincare products. Plas Dinam’s electricity supply is 100% renewable energy. Keeping everything as eco-friendly is very important to us!
