Overseas weddings
Getting married abroad is becoming more and more popular with many of the major holiday operators offering tailor-made wedding packages, from short haul though long haul these "destination weddings" often have a much more relaxed feel to them, although this doesn't mean you have to compromise your wedding day in any way. The packages provided by the tour operators often include the Minister or Judge to officiate at your wedding, a local florist for bouquets and buttonholes, the wedding cake, sparkling wine and sometimes photography.
Whether you fancy tying the knot on a yacht in Cyprus, an all-inclusive luxury wedding in Portugal or even escaping to a luxurious city location such as Paris, New York or Dubai, you'll find amazing planners and destination wedding specialists right here.
Honeymoons
When planning your honeymoon it can be tricky to find the ideal location. There are so many wonderful places to choose from. Rightfully so, many couples consider this to be a once-in-a-lifetime trip and therefore want it to be special, spending a little more than they would their average holiday. Sit down with your partner and discuss what you are wanting from this experience. Some couples want multi-destination honeymoons where they can explore many bucket-list places in one swoop with their partner. Others simply want to relax at a romantic, all-inclusive luxury resort for a couple of weeks and spend quality time relaxing with their new husband or wife.

Weddings Abroad FAQs
You can get married pretty much anywhere in the world, depending on legal requirements. When choosing a wedding destination, write a list of your key requirements (countryside, views, beach, etc) to build a picture of your ideal location and then narrow down the destinations by your budget and needs.
According to travel specialists Kuoni, the average spend on a destination wedding is around ÂŁ7,500. Compared to the average UK wedding, getting married abroad can work out much cheaper, due to a smaller number of guests, affordable package deals at all-inclusive resorts and choosing less well-known locations. As with any wedding of course, it is worth bearing in mind that the cost will be fully dependent on when you choose to get married, how many guests you invite and where you choose to host the event. Always do you research and ensure you've worked out your budget before you choose you book your destination wedding.
A symbolic ceremony can be held pretty much anywhere, but if you want a legal ceremony abroad, the full legal requirements vary by country. But every destination will need the bride and groom to have these documents in their original form or a certified copy: a valid 10-year passport with at least six months remaining on it, full birth certificates and a Certificate of No Impediment (CNI) or Single Status Statutory Declaration. Be aware that if you’re marrying in a non-English speaking country your paperwork may have to be translated and given an additional certification of authenticity to validate the document abroad.
It is important to check the legality of the ceremony you are planning as while some weddings that take place abroad are valid in the UK, others may not be. However, if your dream destination doesn't fall in this bracket, you can still have your legally binding wedding ceremony at a town hall or registry office in the UK just before (or just after) you jet off.
