December 2018 Scam - Attendee List: Brides the Show

Exhibitors at London Olympia's "Brides - The Show" are being targeted by the latest scam email, below. An email from "epartnergroup" promises an attendee list of 19,628 visitors to the show.  This is a scam; this email has come from USA company eventsinfogroup.com who have no connection with the organisers of Brides The Show and have not had access to their attendee list.

Under GDPR, storing, processing or using the data this company claim to have would be illegal.

Hi,

Would you be interested in acquiring the list of Attendees with complete contact information for pre-show marketing campaign, appointment setting, networking and various other post-show Marketing initiatives.

Data fields: Company names, Contact name, Title designation, email address, phone number, complete mailing address. We only include opt-in contacts in our database.

Thanks & I'll look forward to your response.

November 2017 - The Parliamentary Review

As there are a lot of successful SMEs in the wedding industry it makes us an obvious target for a letter from former Tory minister Lord Pickles to be included in The Parliamentary Review.

With a foreword from the Prime Minister and the Chancellor and a launch party at the Palace of Westminster you’d be forgiven for thinking The Parliamentary Review was an official government publication about industry best practice and being included as a contributor would be a great endorsement for your company.

The Parliamentary Review is published by Westminster Publications which, despite its name, is not published by Parliament nor Westminster. The letter invites you to phone for further information, which includes the minor detail that the cost for inclusion is £3500.

Ironically, industry best practice would dictate that reputable companies would never pay for an endorsement...

November 2017 - Accommodation booking scam

Exhibitors of The Bridelux Destination Wedding Show and National Wedding Shows are being contacted by phone to book accommodation in London for the shows. The number being used is 0033 004 30831.

This company is not connected to either Bridelux or The National Wedding Show.

September 2017 - International Fairs Directory Scam

If you are exhibiting at Ocean Media's National Wedding Shows look out for the latest scam from the International Fairs Directory who have been contacting exhibitors for each of the shows to confirm details for the show guide. The timing and content of their letters and emails coincides with the timing for submitting details for the official show guide, however the small print includes a charge of around £1450 for the listing.

The company is https://www.inter-fairs.com, they are based in Costa Rica and are not connected to The National Wedding Show.
