The Bride & Groom
Dahila and Seyi met while Dahila was out bowling with her friends. They wanted to have both a white wedding and traditional Nigerian wedding all in one huge day of celebrations. They decided to get Tola from Roe Weddings on board to help them plan their big day in just 4 months.
They did all their own research, with the help of Tola, and found some incredible suppliers to make their big day dreams come true!
The Venue
The couple chose to hold their big day at the gorgeous Hedsor House in Buckinghamshire. Hedsor House gives you a "blank canvas" opportunity allowing you to create your dream wedding and is hired on an exclusive basis providing you with a completely unique and private occasion for you and your guests.

This was the perfect choice for Dahila & Seyi as they had the chance to create their unique big day exactly the way they wanted. With a stunning background for their ceremony, large reception space for their Nigerian celebrations and 10 additional guest bedrooms for close members of the wedding party, Hedsor House was the perfect choice for this incredible day.

Hedsor House is licensed for civil ceremonies and can host wedding receptions in their breathtaking chandelier lined Ballroom for up to 150 guests. Hedsor is also set in almost 100 acres of glorious parkland so there is the opportunity to enjoy your wedding both inside and out. This also makes it the perfect venue for incredible wedding photos that can be treasured for years to come.
A Heavenly Morning: The White Wedding
Dahila used the beautiful bridal suite at Hedsor House to start her magical day. Getting ready with her close bridal party, her 3 bridesmaids, mother, mother in-law and helped along the way by Tola.
Dahila was able to take in the gorgeous surroundings of Hedsor House from the tall windows in the bridal suite creating a bright and natural atmosphere to start the day. Of course there was champagne, hair, make-up and lots of laughs and smiles.

Seyi wore a very suave tuxedo with a white jacket and black bow tie and his 4 groomsmen wore black tuxedos for the white wedding celebrations. These worked really well with the contemporary elegance of the venue and truly complemented the looks of Dahila and her bridesmaids.
The couple chose a beautiful palette of colours for the day: Olive, Nude, Beige, White and Terracotta. The choice of multiple colours that work together allowed Tola and her team of fabulous suppliers the flexibility to get creative while still following a consistent theme. From the flowers, to the cake and decor, we think the choices worked wonderfully.
Before she headed down the aisle, Tola captured the stunning moment that Dahila's mum and soon-to-be mother in law said a prayer as Dahila looked out the grand windows in reflection of how big the moment was.

The ceremony lasted just 20 minutes, which gave the couple plenty of time to capture some STUNNING editorial photos in and around the grounds of Hedsor House.
A Beautiful Evening: The Traditional Nigerian Wedding
For the traditional Nigerian wedding ceremony in the evening, the couple and their wedding party changed into their traditional dress for a Yoruba wedding. On her stories, Tola praised Dahila for how well she wore her outfit, especially the Gele saying: "My lovely Jamaican bride turned Nigerian wife looked absolutely stunning in her outfit. I did feel sorry for Dahila in that Gele (head tie) because Gele is not for the faint hearted, especially when you are not used to them!"

Wedding planner's top tips:
Tola helpfully shared all of her tips for combining both your white wedding and traditional cultural wedding ceremony and celebrations into one day on her Instagram story. You can view the full story highlight for Dahila and Seyi's wedding on Roe Wedding's Instagram.
We've summarised her top tips here:
- Timing is everything when you are planning a 2 in 1 wedding. There is a lot to include in one day!
- If you can't stretch to hiring a wedding planner to plan your events, seriously consider getting a professional involved to help you coordinate the day and timings.
- Having both weddings in one day will save you money as it removes the need for multiple venues and additional suppliers. However, it is worth bearing in mind where other costs will come in, such as additional decor costs when you host each celebration in different rooms.
- You will need a venue that allows early access or will allow you to pay for an additional few hours of hire to give you and your suppliers plenty of time to prepare for each celebration.
- Booking a venue with multiple spaces to hold each celebration may be useful, although, you can host both the white wedding and traditional celebrations in the same room, it will just take some extra planning.
