If your wedding is scheduled for next year, you'll find inspiration in Hollie and Ade's beautiful love story. They tied the knot in April 2023, with a stunning Spring wedding held at a charming Cheshire barn venue. Discover all the details of their exceptional day and get inspired by their choices.
The Wedding Couple's Proposal Story
Hollie and Ade's love story began during the Covid-19 lockdown when they started chatting on the dating app, Bumble. They were together for over a year when, on Hollie's birthday, Ade had a surprise for her. He said he wrote a new song for a gig and wanted her to listen. They went to a quiet playground and sat on wooden stumps. Ade played a beautiful song - it was a proposal song! Afterwards, he asked Hollie to marry him, and she happily said "yes".
The Wedding Venue
Hollie and Ade found the perfect wedding venue in no time. They fell in love with The Oak Tree of Peover as soon as they saw it.
The Oak Tree of Peover is a family-owned wedding barn in Knutsford, Cheshire. It's available for exclusive use and has a license to host civil wedding ceremonies both indoors and outdoors. This was an immediate hit with Ade and Hollie as they loved the idea of an outdoor wedding (if the weather allowed!) and felt that the indoor spaces were equally beautiful.
The inside of the wedding barn features large windows which let in lots of natural light. What's more, it is surrounded by 30 acres of beautiful gardens and meadows, giving couples a stunning countryside backdrop for their big day.
Hollie and Ade loved the fact The Oak Tree of Peover offered privacy and seclusion and the option to use the whole venue if they needed to; this was just right for their special day as it could be just them and their guests in a peaceful and beautiful setting. Plus the lovely and contemporary atmosphere would work with their relaxed vision for their big day.

Hollie's wedding dress was custom made from scratch by Erica Stacey Bridal Wear. She had the skirt of her mothers wedding dress sewn into it adding a really sentimental touch and the perfect, subtle "something old" for her wedding look. Also, for another special touch, Hollie and Ade's initials were sewn inside the bust in blue.
For her wedding jewellery, Hollie wore a beautiful pearl necklace, it was very special as it belonged to her Nan, and she had given it to Hollie to wear. The bridesmaids and flower girl chose their own dresses, all green-toned. Hollie and Ade said they wanted to make sure they were all comfortable and weren't worried about them wearing the exact same dress or colours.
Ade looked stylish and sharp in an ecru wedding suit from Next, complemented by a bow tie from The Tie Garden on Etsy, a Fedora from H&M and trendy green Converse shoes. This perfectly coordinated with the bridesmaids green-toned dresses. The best man also sported a matching outfit to Ade's.
The Wedding Flowers and Decor
Hollie and Ade were so in love with the venue's oak beams and foliage, they felt the venue didn't need a huge amount of decor and wanted to let these attributes shine. The couple wanted a relaxed theme, using sage and greens as well as autumnal shades.
The bridesmaid dresses and table centrepieces all had sage/green colours, while the flowers showcased warm autumn hues. Even though it was a spring wedding, the couple love autumn colours, including rusty oranges, bright yellows and deep reds. Ade and Hollie wanted these to shine on their big day and we think they did a beautiful job of it.
The Food
Hollie and Ade are both vegan, so their wedding had a fully vegan menu with three courses. Guests were given a choice of delectable plant-based dishes. For the starter, they could choose from Vegetable Soup, Bruschetta, and Asparagus Salad. For the main course, the options were Pea and Mint Risotto, Chilli, and Mushroom Nut En Croute. Dessert choices included Summer Berries, Sticky Toffee Pudding, and Chocolate Brownie. The children attending the big day had their own delicious options to choose from as well.
The couple had personalised honeycomb place settings for their wedding. These special decorations also served as favours for the wedding guests. They chose the honeycomb design because they lived in Manchester and it held sentimental value to them. The guests loved the elegant touch, and it made their wedding day even more memorable.
Favourite Part of The Day
Hollie and Ade's favourite part of the day was exchanging their wedding vows, as they had decided to write their own heartfelt promises. It brought great joy to both of them to hear each other's own words of love and commitment.
Hollie and Ade's wedding day was a beautiful occasion. The couple's carefully selected elements, from the decorations to the attire, made their wedding incredibly memorable and unique to their style. A few days after the wedding, they enjoyed a lovely minimoon in Edinburgh, creating wonderful memories. They are now planning a honeymoon for later in the year.
