The Proposal
Amy and Will's story began with a date in Portsmouth at Gunwharf Quays after meeting on dating app, Bumble. After being together for 5 years and with a baby due in just one week, Amy and Will went for a nice evening stroll at her favourite spot by the sea in Bosham, Sussex. They stopped to sit on a bench over looking the sea, watching the sun go down. In that moment, Will popped the question, mentioning how wonderful it would be for their whole family to share a name. It was very emotional and exciting as their baby was due so soon.
The Planning
Amy and Will spent just over a year meticulously planning their wedding. Amy, who was on maternity leave for 10 months, absolutely loved the planning process, having plenty of time to unleash her creativity.
The Venue
The couple chose Southdowns Manor as their wedding venue. They loved the beautiful grounds with green lawns and charming wisteria walkways which created the enchanting setting they had dreamed of for their big day. The natural beauty of the countryside and rolling hills was a very memorable backdrop for their wedding guests. The outdoor ceremony area, especially the lovely gazebo on the private terrace, appealed to the couple's desire for a romantic and unique setting. They also noted how friendly and welcoming staff were, knowing that they would be well looked after on their special day.
Southdowns Manor is based in West Sussex, in the heart of the South Downs National Park. The manor house is perfect for both small and large weddings, accommodating up to 150 guests. It's conveniently located near London, Guildford, and Southampton, right on the border of Hampshire, Surrey, and West Sussex. The venue offers elegant reception rooms, a lovely outdoor gazebo ceremony space with picturesque views, 14 luxurious ensuite bedrooms, and a stunning honeymoon suite. At Southdowns Manor, Amy and Will's wedding ceremony was a dreamy outdoor affair. The setting was picture-perfect, with a gazebo and breathtaking views that added a touch of magic to the moment. The whole atmosphere was wrapped in a beautiful blush pink theme. During the ceremony, Amy made the moment even more personal by sharing a sweet poem she wrote for Will. The charm didn't end there, their son Axel stole hearts as he cruised down the aisle in a vintage toy car, bringing an extra dose of joy and playfulness to the celebration. The Food
At their wedding, the couple served up a tasty British three course meal, including a delicious prawn cocktail, traditional roast chicken, and sumptuous sticky toffee pudding. To make it even more special, a good friend of Amy and Will baked their beautiful wedding cake that stole the show.
Unique Touches
Amy and Will infused their personalities into every aspect of the day, from a selfie frame for photos to a vintage toy car carrying their son Axel down the aisle. The handmade table decorations from reused jam jars and bottles were a rustic touch and their best friends played integral roles in the day, contributing to the cake, acting as master of ceremonies, and even loaning the spectacular red Ferrari.
