About Mercure Oxford Hawkwell House Hotel
Mercure Oxford Hawkwell House sits in the village of Iffley, about two miles from the centre of Oxford, within three acres of landscaped gardens. The setting brings together classic manor house architecture and flexible event spaces for weddings and celebrations. Couples can choose to hold their civil ceremony indoors in the Thames Suite, which can hold up to 180 guests for the ceremony, up to 160 for a wedding breakfast and up to 250 for an evening reception.
The Cherwell Suite provides an alternative space with antique-style features for smaller gatherings. Ceremony, drinks, and wedding breakfast can flow through the day using the venue’s suites and outdoor garden areas. The gardens offer space for pre-reception drinks and photos. For exclusive accommodation close to the function rooms, Elm House on the hotel grounds has 15 bedrooms overlooking the gardens and can be used as a private retreat for family and friends.
The hotel also lies within walking distance of St Mary The Virgin Church in Iffley, providing an option for church weddings nearby. Bedrooms throughout the property reflect vintage Oxford-inspired décor and include amenities such as en-suite bathrooms, flat-screen TVs and complimentary Wi-Fi. Privilege rooms can include additional features such as a Nespresso machine and complimentary soft drinks.
