The Wedding Couple’s Story

Josh and Hannah White's love story started at a young age. They worked together at a local pub during their school days and started dating. Although they briefly went their separate ways during university, they found their way back to each other when they both returned to their hometown to pursue their teaching careers.

After eight years of being together, they got engaged during their October half term break at Tintagel Castle in Cornwall. Around 18 months later, on the 6th of April 2023, Josh and Hannah's rustic wedding took place at the picturesque Wick Farm in Bath. With 92 guests in attendance, they were able to enjoy their special day entirely surrounded by the people they love most.

About The Wedding Venue

Hannah and Josh had a couple of key requirements for their wedding venue which helped narrow down their search. Firstly, the couple were really keen to keep their wedding fairly local as they love the countryside around Bath and Frome. Additionally, they wanted the convenience of having both the ceremony and reception in one location. Hannah said that because of this, “Wick Farm was the obvious choice.”

The Barns at Wick Farm is full of natural beauty and steeped in history. The farm is set on 37 acres of breathtaking landscapes and provides a beautiful barn wedding venue with expansive countryside views. It really ticked all the boxes for Hannah and Josh’s wedding; especially as the venue is licensed for civil ceremonies, allowing couples and their wedding guests to stay in one place for the ceremony and celebrations.

The Wedding Dress and Wedding Fashion

Hannah's wedding dress, a beautiful Anna Sorrano gown, was sourced through Facebook Marketplace. It was a great find for Hannah and allowed her to make the sustainable choice of wearing a pre-loved wedding dress. She enlisted the help of a local professional seamstress to make the alterations she needed for the dress to become her own. Hannah completed her bridal look with elegant hair and make-up, cool white converse trainers and a stunning flower crown with fingertip length veil. I think we can all agree that she looked incredible!

Josh looked equally dashing in his navy, three-piece Marc Darcy suit with a subtle check. Josh accessorised his suit with a paisley patterned tie, pocket square and brown shoes. The groomsmen matched the groom, wearing blue suits with a charming check pattern and complimenting their looks with the same tie and pocket square.

Mint green, chosen as the accent colour, perfectly captured the vibrance of spring. Hannah's bridesmaid, Leonie, wore the elegant 'Rosa' dress from Wed2Be in this delightful shade which was totally perfect for her. Additionally, Hannah’s mum looked sensational in her navy blue Monsoon maxi dress for her mother of the bride moment. It featured colourful embroidery which perfectly complemented the oranges, purples and pinks in the wedding flowers.

The Food

The wedding breakfast was prepared by Strawberry Fields, the preferred caterers at Wick Farm. The couple opted for BBQ sharing platters on each table, offering a variety of mouthwatering BBQ dishes, accompanied by salads and smoked jacket potatoes.

For dessert, guests enjoyed sticky toffee pudding and tarte citron, allowing them to swap and share among themselves, fostering interaction and conversation between the wedding guests.

Of course, we cannot forget their stunning wedding cake, which featured a beautiful buttercream finish complete with sugar flowers that matched the decor and an adorable lego bride and groom sitting on the second tier.

For the wedding flowers, the couple chose to reflect the bright and colourful nature of spring. Their florist created a number of arrangements from Hannah’s bridal bouquet, to buttonholes and larger decorative displays that included clean neutral tones accompanied by vibrant pinks, oranges, blues and purples.

The couple also wanted to pay homage to their favorite place, Glastonbury Festival, and incorporated elements of the festival by naming their tables after different stages. As a nod to their Easter weekend wedding, mini-eggs were given as wedding favours. The perfect sweet touch to complete the decor.

The Music and Entertainment

Music is incredibly important to the couple, so naturally the wedding music performances on their wedding day had to be top notch! To entertain their guests, the evening started with a performance by the groom's band, showcasing their shared passion for music.

The local Rock Choir, featuring the bride, mother of the bride, and parents of the groom, surprised everyone with a flash mob performance, followed by a 30-minute set.

A DJ kept the party going until the end of the night, and a photo booth and customised quizzes and crosswords added to the fun.

The Biggest Highlight?

Hannah and Josh remarked that one of their biggest highlights of the wedding day was the speeches. The father-of-the-bride, the groom, and the best man all delivered heartfelt and memorable speeches that touched the hearts of everyone present.

And so, the night ended with laughter echoing in the air and wonderful memories for everyone who was lucky enough to witness Josh and Hannah's epic wedding. They proved that when you mix a dash of rustic charm, a splash of springtime joy, and a whole lot of rock 'n' roll spirit, you create a wedding extravaganza for the ages. Cheers to this lovely couple and a lifetime of love, laughter, and more incredible adventures!

The Upcoming Honeymoon

In lieu of a traditional gift list, the couple set up a honeymoon fund with Trailfinders, and their guests generously contributed cash donations towards their dream honeymoon. Speaking of which, Josh and Hannah were eagerly anticipating their trip to Canada and the USA this summer.
