Their wedding was beautifully captured by The McHendrys, wedding photographers and videographers covering the UK and destination weddings.
The Proposal
Their proposal was so heartwarming and took place in a cosy lodge in York on Oonagh's 30th birthday. Chris arranged a beautiful surprise, with the help of their children, who wore t-shirts with the sweet question, "Mummy, will you marry Daddy?" Needless to say, she said "Yes"!
Their Wedding Venue
Holmes Mill stole their hearts instantly, with its unique charm and character. When asked what made them choose this venue, the couple said: "We saw there was a wedding fair there ... as soon as we walked into the room we knew that was it."
Originally a 19th Century Cotton Mill, Holmes Mill was lovingly transformed into a truly unique, industrial chic wedding venue. Located in Lancashire, this modern venue provides a picturesque setting for every aspect of your wedding day, from your civil ceremony to evening reception. The versatile Cotton Room serves as a charming ceremony space, bathed in natural light and decorated with reclaimed cinema seating.
Holmes Mill can accommodate weddings ranging from 50 to 150 guests, but as your celebrations continue into the evening, this increases to 180 guests for a night of drinks and dancing. The historic Spinning Block Hotel, the oldest part of the Holmes Mill complex, offers 39 individually designed bedrooms for your loved ones to enjoy before and after the celebration, so you can rest assured that they are well taken care of.

Holmes Mill Wedding Venue
Create a truly unforgettable wedding day at Holmes Mill, Lancashire's exceptional Industrial Chic Wedding Venue. The Ceremony
As to not distract from the natural beauty of the venue, Oonagh and Chris opted for a neutral colour scheme accentuated by green florals and white and black accents throughout.
Their wedding ceremony was a touching moment, highlighted with Oonagh walking down the aisle to Train's "Marry Me". Their rectangular wedding arch beautifully framed the couple during their ceremony, intertwined with green foliage and festoon lights.
Wedding Fashion
Oonagh stunned in a white A-Line wedding gown with three-quarter length bell sleeves. The plunging v-neckline was perfectly accompanied by her wavy hairstyle, allowing the waves to naturally frame her face, giving Oonagh an beautiful effortless look. Her bridal headpiece truly was a show-stopper! The glitz and glam from the tiara allowed her natural beauty to shine.
Chris looked smart with his classic black tuxedo paired with a black bowtie and green buttonhole, flawlessly matching the modern, neutral colour scheme.
The bridal party all chose their own white bridesmaid dresses! This allowed them to all feel comfortable on the big day and it ensured that they weren't in an outfit that might not have suited their personality or style. And to top it all off, we're also loving the mismatched bridesmaid trend at the moment. Like Chris, his groomsmen looked dapper in matching black tuxedos, finished off with a white pocket square and green buttonhole. As you can see, the entire wedding party blended beautifully together, providing a cohesive and stylish look for wedding photographs.
The Food
When it came to the wedding breakfast, Oonagh and Chris opted for hearty meal, serving up pie and mash with mushy peas and gravy, followed by sticky toffee pudding - a nod to their winter wedding at Holmes Mill and adding in some warmth and comfort for their guests.
The Entertainment
As the night went on, musical entertainment by Jonny Ross Music kept the party alive, with an amazing DJ and saxophone player ensuring everyone danced the night away. The couple said, "They were absolutely amazing, everyone loved them!".
Personal Touches
Oonagh and Chris wanted to add an extra layer of personality and sentiment into their special day, making their own place cards for their guests, including in a little message with their favourite memory of them to personally thank them for attending.
