I'm Gary, The Silver Celebrant. You'll spot me by the hair. I'm an independent celebrant in Cheshire, creating weddings, namings and vow renewals across Cheshire, Manchester and North Wales. Over a brew and a natter, I'll hear your story and watch for the little things, the glances and the giggles. Then I turn it into a ceremony that sounds like you. No airs and graces, no off the shelf scripts. Just heartfelt words, a few laughs and a day celebrated entirely your way.

Wedding Ceremonies: Every ceremony I write starts from scratch, built around your story, your humour and the people you love. We'll meet for a brew and a natter, I'll get to know you properly, and then I'll write a ceremony that sounds like the two of you. You'll see a draft, we'll tweak it together, and on the day I'll deliver it with warmth, a few laughs and the odd lump in the throat.

Help With Your Vows: Writing your own vows can feel daunting, so I'll help you shape your ideas, find the right words and practise saying them out loud. If you'd rather not recite them from memory, we can do "repeat after me" vows, where I read them a line at a time. Keeping them a secret until the big day? I'm very good at keeping secrets.

Rituals and Personal Touches: Handfasting, ring warming, a toast to loved ones who can't be there, your dog as ring bearer or your nan doing a reading. If it means something to you, we can make it part of your ceremony.

LGBTQIA+ Couples Welcome: Whoever you love, you're welcome here. Two brides, two grooms, or however you describe yourselves, I'll write a ceremony built around you, with no outdated traditions and no script to squeeze yourselves into. Best man, best woman or a best mate who refuses to pick a title, it's your call.

Any Venue, Any Day: Barns, hotels, woodland, gardens or somewhere completely unexpected. I'm happy to do midweek weddings too, which are often kinder on the budget.

Rehearsal and On the Day: I'll run through everything with you beforehand, so you know exactly what's happening, and I'll be right beside you on the day, rooting for you.

Vow Renewals and Naming Ceremonies: I also create vow renewals and naming ceremonies, for when you want to celebrate the next chapter.

Please note that a celebrant ceremony isn't legally binding on its own, you will need to complete the legal paperwork with a registrar. I'm happy to explain how it all works.
