A celebrant is someone who creates and conducts bespoke wedding ceremonies, personalised to each couple, with no restrictions on timing, content or location. A registrar is employed by the council and offers marriage ceremonies within designated rooms in council buildings or venues that have a wedding licences. They must stick to a legal script and must make no reference to God, religion or spirituality. Services last around 15 minutes.
Humanists believe the human experience and rational thinking provide the only source of knowledge and a moral code to live by. Therefore, ceremonies, while tailored to a couple, are non-religious. Independent Celebrants, on the flipside, are not affiliated or constrained by any organisation and as such, welcome all beliefs, backgrounds and approaches and believe a couple has the right to choose the content of their ceremony without limits.
My regular fee is £750 all in. However, on occasion I offer promotions and special deals. For example, I am currently running a 'late availability' promotion for Summer 2026, offering 15% off for any wedding that takes place until 31 August 2026.
Absolutely! I can also offer ideas and support choosing music and readings and can even help you write your vows if that's what you wish.
This is your ceremony and this is absolutely a collaborative process, so you are free to be as involved in the writing of the ceremony as you wish. I will be happy to offer guidance on tried and tested frameworks and structures if required. Or I can write a first draft and hand it over to you so that you can develop it. We can work on it together until you are 100% happy. And of course you can write your own vows.
There's a structure to a wedding ceremony that works, and many elements are included in a service because they 'make sense' and are traditional, such as the promise (the 'I do's'), the vows and the exchange of rings. But the beauty of a celebrant-led wedding is that there are no rules. It's your ceremony, your way. I'm here to listen and help bring your dream wedding to life.

Definitely. If not face to face, then at least over a video call. It's essential that I get to know you as a couple so that I can create a ceremony that truly reflects who you are. But also, you'll want to meet me so that you can be sure I'm the right celebrant for you!
A minimum of three months to give us the best chance to meet and produce a top-notch ceremony. Deadlines can be pushed tighter if required but the further in advance you can book, the better.
